Walnut epoxy river coasters.
These coasters are made from a single piece of wood that has a channel cut into it. The river is made out of epoxy from the company Ecopoxy that has been tinted Pearl White. It is finished with a durable and natural finish to protect it and prolong its life. This item is made to order, making each set unique. the finished coasters are 4inch squares that are .5inches thick. The set includes five coasters and a holder.
The piece of wood was cut into a long strip that was slightly larger then the final dimensions. Then a channel is cut into the middle in a random shape. Next the epoxy in mixed up and tinted to the color. After being poured into the channel, the epoxy is stirred every 2 hours for the first 24 hours. The stirring creates the swirling effect that can be seen in the photos. After 5 days, the river is flattened and sanded. Once sanded, it is cut into squares and the edges are sanded. The finish is then applied in coats that each take 24 hours to dry. Finally they are packed up and shipped out. The holder is included and made from an extra coaster.
The finish and epoxy are nontoxic. When you receive the item the only thing you may smell is a hint of citrus from the finish.
If it becomes dusty, it can be cleaned with a damp rag. Don’t use harsh chemicals as it will ruin the finish.
These are made to order and will ship within two-three weeks.
The river in the pictures is not the one you will receive. The shape of wood and the color of epoxy will vary slightly
